Read this bit if you read nothing else. RepoGates is a security aid, not a guarantee. It assesses public signals about a GitHub repository and gates browser downloads. It can be wrong in both directions: it can flag a safe repository, and it can pass a malicious one. You remain responsible for what you run.
RepoGates is a browser extension and a verdict service that assess GitHub repositories against a published set of checks and block or warn on browser-initiated downloads according to your policy. An optional MCP server exposes the same assessment to AI agents that choose to ask.
The scope limits stated on this site are part of these terms:
RepoGates does not intercept git clone, package managers,
command-line downloads, or any process outside your browser, and does
not stop an AI agent that does not call it.
An account is required. You sign in with Google or Microsoft; you must be entitled to use that identity and be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if that is higher.
You are responsible for activity under your account. Do not share it — seats are per person, and device limits exist so that a seat is a person rather than a team.
A new account may assess 10 distinct repositories within 14 days of registering, whichever runs out first. Assessing the same repository again does not consume another.
When the trial ends, RepoGates stops assessing new repositories; it does not stop protecting you. Repositories already known to be malicious continue to be blocked, and anything unassessed is reported as unassessed rather than passed. The same applies to a lapsed subscription.
Paid plans are billed through Polar, who act as merchant of record and are the seller for tax purposes. Their terms apply to the transaction; prices are shown inclusive or exclusive of tax as determined by Polar for your location.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time, effective at the end of the paid period. We do not pro-rate partial periods.
Polar is the merchant of record: it takes the payment, issues the invoice and processes refunds. Its buyer terms apply to your purchase alongside these terms.
Changing plan does not start a second subscription; it moves the one you already have, and your renewal date does not move with it.
Beyond those windows we would still rather refund one unhappy customer than argue with them: if RepoGates did not do what this site says it does, write to us and say so.
There is nothing to refund on the free trial — it takes no payment details. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, the EU/UK right of withdrawal, or equivalent protections where you live; where they give you more than this section does, they win.
The personal tier is provided without an availability commitment. If the verdict service is unreachable, the extension behaves according to your fail mode — fail closed stops downloads, fail open allows them — and that choice is yours. Business and Enterprise plans may carry a service level agreement; where they do, it is in the order form and it prevails over this section.
RepoGates is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will identify every malicious repository or that it will never flag a safe one — no product of this kind can, and we would rather write that here than imply otherwise.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including under the Australian Consumer Law, where certain guarantees cannot be excluded and our liability may be limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of resupply.
We may change these terms. Material changes are announced through the extension's versioned-notice mechanism before they take effect, and the version and date at the top of this page always tell you which set you are on. If you do not accept a change, stop using the service and ask us for a refund of any unused paid period.
You may stop at any time: uninstall the extension and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend an account that breaches section 5, and will tell you why.
These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia, and the courts there have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not deprive you of protections you have at home.
